The Islamic Call Society stated to our source that the Ministry of Awqaf in Jordan illegally removed the Libyan flag and the Society’s flag from the buildings of Sheikh Al-Shuhada Omar Al-Mukhtar Schools, located in the Society’s endowment building in Amman, which has been registered under the Society’s name since 1981.
The Society explained that the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf justified its actions by citing delays in the disbursement of the budget for the Sheikh Al-Shuhada Omar Al-Mukhtar Schools, in order to take control of the schools — with the collusion of “J.A.,” described by the Society as the representative of an illegitimate parallel administration — by handing over the schools and the endowment to a temporary Jordanian committee, before later leaving Jordan for Libya.
It added: The director of the schools appointed by us is following up the case with the Sharia Court in Jordan. We hold the supervisory bodies responsible for what has happened and what may happen, despite our repeated warnings about the consequences of not transferring the allocated funds and approved budgets from the Society.
The Society concluded its statement by saying: We call on the Office of the Public Prosecutor to investigate this crime after the endowment belonging to the Islamic Call Society was unlawfully handed over to an authority that does not have the right to it.
