OilPrice reported on Tuesday that the United States indicated that oil is its main motivation in launching an attack on Venezuela and arresting Maduro, similar to what happened in Libya in 2011.
According to the site, Washington focuses on controlling the energy future in these oil-rich countries rather than orchestrating regime change. Subsequent interventions in Libya and Kuwait, among others, followed a similar pattern, where oil reserves and energy security have always been a core aspect of U.S. national security, even if not explicitly stated, the report noted.
