In Detail and Figures: Parliament Approves Salary Increases for Eastern Libya’s Army and Allocates 210 Million Dinars to the Election Commission

The House of Representatives has issued a decision to increase the salaries of members of the Libyan army in the eastern region. Under the new structure, the salary of a Field Marshal has been set at 12,800 dinars, while a soldier’s salary reaches 2,100 dinars, as part of an updated pay scale covering various military ranks with different annual increases.

According to the decision, the salary scale begins with recruits in training centers at 800 dinars, followed by students (1,000 dinars for secondary students and 1,500 dinars for college students). The rank of soldier ranges between 1,620 and 2,020 dinars, with an annual increase of 40 dinars. Salaries then progress through the military ranks, from Second Lieutenant up to First General, reaching the rank of Field Marshal, which ranges between 11,350 and 12,850 dinars, with an annual increase of 150 dinars.

In a related context, the council approved a budget of 210 million dinars for the Election Commission to cover the costs of parliamentary and presidential elections. Disbursement will be carried out according to the approved financial estimates and under the supervision of the Presidency of the House of Representatives.
