Our source obtained correspondence from the Central Bank of Libya addressed to the National Commercial Bank, requesting that the bank’s General Assembly meeting be postponed to allow for a review of the agenda items.
The Central Bank confirmed that the proposed increase in the National Commercial Bank’s capital requires a realistic and comprehensive assessment that meets all relevant requirements, particularly given that the bank’s most recent capital increase was carried out only recently in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Accordingly, the Central Bank requested the postponement of the Ordinary General Assembly meeting and stated that it did not approve the holding of the National Commercial Bank’s Extraordinary General Assembly.
