Exclusive.. Central Bank to Offer $110 Million to Exchange Companies and Allocate $2 Billion for Letters of Credit and Personal Purposes in September

Our source obtained details of the Central Bank of Libya’s offer to exchange companies, amounting to $110 million for personal purposes as an initial step.

The Central Bank is also asking commercial banks to receive shipments of cash US dollars to cover all existing reservations.

The source added that, starting September 1, approvals for documentary letters of credit will begin to be issued, with their values made available for sale the following day. A total of $2 billion is expected to be allocated during the month, covering both approvals and foreign-currency sales.
