The head of the National Oil Corporation’s management told Reuters on Thursday that the valve on the oil pipeline connecting Libya’s Hamada and Al-Tahara oil fields to the Zawiya port had been closed, resulting in a decline in production at both sites.
The National Oil Corporation stated that the continued closure would lead to losses in crude oil production volumes, negatively affecting production rates. It urged the relevant authorities to “intervene immediately to reopen the valve and secure the site” so that technical operations could resume, according to Reuters.
