Apartment owners in the Airport Road residential project (formerly the Airlines Club and the Ministry of Justice buildings), affiliated with the Real Estate Investment Savings Bank, organized a protest on Tuesday, March 31, in front of the Law Enforcement Department. The protest was sparked by the failure to carry out eviction procedures against unlawful occupants, despite prior promises made by the head of the Law Enforcement Department before the holy month of Ramadan to hand over the apartments to the rightful owners holding allocation certificates.
During the protest, the apartment owners demanded an expedited implementation of eviction procedures and the enforcement of their legal right to receive their properties. They stressed that the delay has prolonged their suffering and deprived them of their lawful rights.
For his part, the head of the Law Enforcement Department explained during a meeting with the protesters that certain authorities have not yet completed their tasks related to compensating the current occupants affected by the eviction process, which has hindered implementation within the scheduled timeframe.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to follow up with the Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure that compensation procedures are completed and that the rightful apartment owners receive their properties as soon as possible.
