The Central Bank of Libya’s liquidity team said exclusively to our source, within the framework of the Central Bank’s plan to provide liquidity in all branches of commercial banks in all regions of Libya before the holy month of Ramadhan, and in the framework of the coordination that took place between the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya Seddiq Al-Kabeer and the Deputy Governor Al-Hibri, and after coordination with the departments of commercial banks, it was agreed to transfer cash shipments to Benina Airport in Benghazi at a value of one billion dinars to bank branches in the eastern region, as of March 23.

All difficulties related to air transportation were overcome, and permission was granted to the liquidity team to resume the airlift of the eastern region, starting on March 23, with three flights per week.

The liquidity project team at the Central Bank of Libya confirms the availability of a large stock of liquidity and calls on all banks to communicate with the issuance departments of the Central Bank of Libya to receive their liquidity needs.
