Central Bank to Sada: We Extended Banks’ Working Hours to Enable Faster Cash Dollar Sales, with a Target of Selling $100 Million Daily

Our source has exclusively obtained a decision issued by the Central Bank of Libya instructing banks to extend their working hours to withdraw their allocated cash dollar amounts.

The Central Bank also told Sada Economic that it had extended banks’ working hours to enable them to sell U.S. dollars in cash more quickly, with a target of $100 million per day, starting today, Sunday. The Central Bank will also increase banks’ allocations next week to settle pending bookings worth $1 billion.

The Central Bank also instructed banks to accelerate procedures for letters of credit, meet demand through the banking system, and allocate an initial $1 billion.
