Citizens Complain Over Continued Closure of Aman Bank Branch in Zawiyat Al-Dahmani by Municipal Police

Our source has monitored complaints from a number of citizens regarding the continued closure of Aman Bank branch in the Zawiyat Al-Dahmani area for more than a month, which has caused disruption to their services, particularly salary withdrawals, family grants, receiving cards, and the suspension of foreign currency cash sales.

Citizens told our source that the branch was closed by the Tripoli Central Municipality and the municipal police over overcrowding issues, despite the bank’s attempts to address the problem, including efforts to provide a parking area for customers. They said this has delayed their access to funds and caused them direct harm, leading to missed obligations and opportunities, stressing that access to their money is a right that cannot be postponed, especially given the high demand for the branch.

They added that making the provision of a parking space a condition for closure raises questions, especially as other bank branches in the area continue to operate normally without dedicated parking spaces. They called on the relevant authorities to urgently intervene to reopen the branch and allow them to access their entitlements.
