The Speaker of the House of Representatives decided to cancel the tax on goods and luxury items through a letter addressed to the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya. Accordingly, all goods and services will be exempt from taxes from the date of the decision until it is reviewed by experts. The decision is expected to take effect starting next Sunday as soon as the Central Bank receives the letter.
Following the implementation of the cancellation decision, the exchange rate set by the Central Bank will be 6.34 dinars for all purposes, provided that no new taxes are imposed.
