Our source has obtained documents from an Audit Bureau report revealing alleged financial misconduct at the Customs Authority, involving the waste of more than 2.3 million Libyan dinars on bonuses without a legal basis.
According to the documents, significant financial violations were recorded within the General Administration of the Customs Authority. These included the extensive payment of financial bonuses and the depletion of the relevant budget allocation without official assignments or supporting documentation.
Key documented violations include:
- Bonuses totaling 2.3 million Libyan dinars were paid during 2025 through the issuance of more than 70 decisions.
- The payments were made for tasks that were already part of employees’ official duties and core administrative responsibilities, without specifying the reasons for the payments.
- The payments were made in violation of Article 129 of the Executive Regulations of Law No. 12 of 2010 on Labor Relations, as well as Article 99 of the Budget Regulations.
