Exclusive: Central Bank to amend some procedures related to personal purposes to avoid card shipping costs and withdrawal fees
The Central Bank of Libya confirmed exclusively to our source its intention to introduce amendments to certain procedures related to the sale of foreign currency for personal purposes, in order to avoid card shipping costs and withdrawal fees.
The Bank explained that citizens will be allowed to purchase USD 2,000 and sell it directly to the accounts of exchange companies. These companies will be granted the right to use the accumulated amounts in their accounts and transfer them via SWIFT transfers directly to small traders and others. In addition, the option to purchase foreign currency in cash from exchange companies will be made available in the coming weeks.
