Exclusive: Central Bank to Sada: Today’s Leak of Internal Documents Was Expected After We Refused to Negotiate with the Hacking Group or Pay a Ransom
The Central Bank of Libya told our source that today’s leak of internal Central Bank documents was anticipated after the Bank refused to negotiate with the hacking group or pay a ransom.
The Bank stated that, despite the cyberattack, it had successfully secured its systems, financial accounts, balances, and sensitive data, restoring all services to normal operations safely and effectively.
The Central Bank explained that, as a result, the hacking group resorted to publishing documents, including meeting minutes, correspondence, and some reports, noting that certain leaked reports had already been published on the Bank’s official website.
