The Central Bank of Libya confirmed to our source the start of foreign currency sales for personal purposes, in line with what was previously announced, noting that the process will continue until the full amount of $600 million is sold.
The bank explained that, following this, exchange companies will resume operations after the issuance of the operational mechanism circular today, Monday. The Central Bank has also resumed reopening the letters of credit system, granting approvals to banks, and reserving letters of credit through the designated platform.
