Exclusive: Documents Reveal Corruption by the Chairman of the Board of African Airlines, “Ahmed Al-Amin Al-Turki”
Our source revealed that that among the most prominent violations recently raised regarding the performance of the current management of African Airlines is its contract with an insurance company that does not meet the required technical and legal conditions. Correspondence from the Insurance Supervision Authority revealed that the issued insurance policies are invalid and provide no real insurance coverage.
The sources added that, despite the company’s management being aware of these correspondences, flight operations are still ongoing without taking corrective measures. This exposes passengers and citizens to potential danger, as flights have continued for more than three months without valid insurance coverage — a clear violation of civil aviation laws and international regulations. This situation could expose both the Libyan state and the company to international sanctions and potential claims or compensations that may exceed 700 million USD in the event of an accident. Additionally, the payments made to the non-compliant insurance company exceeded 4,632,000 Libyan dinars.
