Exclusive: Electricity Source to Sada: South Tripoli Power Plant Nears Operation… 600 New Megawatts to Be Added to the Grid

Our source at the General Electricity Company of Libya revealed that the South Tripoli Power Plant is expected to begin operation in early August, with a production capacity of 1,300 megawatts.

The source stated that the project is considered one of the strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the electricity grid’s generation capacity.

This comes alongside the completion of maintenance and overhaul works at the Zawiya, Zueitina, and Ubari power plants, which are scheduled to return to service starting 17 July, with a combined generation capacity estimated at 600 megawatts.
