Exclusive: Libyan Economic Consultancy Foundation: Citizens will be the most affected if taxes are imposed on goods and luxuries
A member of the Libyan Economic Consultancy Foundation stated exclusively to our source that a meeting was held with the mayors of the municipalities of Tripoli, Hay Al-Andalus, Souq Al-Jumaa, and Tajoura to discuss the tax imposed by Parliament and its impact on the market and citizens.
During the meeting, the foundation outlined its perspective on the repercussions of this tax, emphasizing that citizens would be the primary victims of its implementation, due to the increase in the prices of goods compared to previous levels.
It added that traders, despite their ability to comply with the decision and sell goods according to what has been imposed by Parliament, are also affected. However, the greatest burden ultimately falls on citizens.
