Our exclusive sources close to the International Monetary Fund revealed that the Central Bank of Libya had requested a change in the points of contact between the Central Bank and the Fund, but had not yet requested a change in the status of Libya’s representative.
The IMF is awaiting a decision by the legislative authorities to begin the process of changing the governor and send a congratulatory message to the newly appointed governor.
The sources added that a meeting previously scheduled to take place in Egypt on 9 November had also been postponed due to the current developments, pending the stabilisation of the new administration at both the legislative and institutional levels.
