Exclusive – With Documents: The Ministry of Education Reports to the Attorney General the Reasons Behind the Delay of School Textbooks and Announces the Dismissal of the Curriculum Center Director
Our source has obtained exclusively a letter from the Office of the Minister of Education in the Government of National Unity addressed to the Attorney General’s Office, detailing the reasons behind the delay in printing school textbooks.
According to the letter, the delay was caused by the failure of some companies to deliver the quantities assigned to them, despite the Curriculum Center fulfilling all its obligations.
The correspondence explained that letters of credit were opened at the beginning of September, giving companies 45 days to deliver the books. However, large quantities remained undelivered by several companies that ignored the center’s warnings and failed to respond or meet their commitments.
The letter further noted that two representatives were sent to Italy by the Curriculum Center, where they found that the books had been fully printed, packed in containers, and ready for shipment, but the companies did not honor their financial agreements with the Italian printing company.
Given that the school year is nearing its end, and in accordance with the Administrative Contracts Regulation, the Minister decided to proceed with a direct assignment. Based on a request from Al-Bashir Printing, Publishing, and Advertising Company, it was commissioned to deliver the textbooks swiftly under the same terms as the other contracts.
Additionally, our source obtained another letter from the Minister of Education announcing the dismissal of the Director General of the Curriculum Center due to administrative negligence, delays, and failure to perform his duties in providing school textbooks.
