Independent: After More Than Ten Years, the Tunisian Consulate Resumes Work in Eastern Libya

The Independent newspaper reported today, Thursday, that after more than 10 years of closure due to the deterioration of the security situation in Libya at the time, Tunisia is reopening its consulate in the city of Benghazi.

The newspaper pointed out that the decision to reopen the consulate comes as part of the Tunisian authorities’ efforts to provide consular services that are closer and more effective for the Tunisian community residing in eastern Libya, who previously had to travel to the capital, Tripoli, to obtain documents and administrative services, aiming to bring consular services closer to the Tunisian community, according to the newspaper.
