Italian company Next Geosolutions has won a contract worth €8.5 million to collaborate with Italian oil services company Saipem in drilling, construction, and stabilization support activities for the Bouri Gas Field development project.
According to the company, under the terms of the contract, Next Geo will be responsible for seabed monitoring operations using remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), construction support services, and pipeline delivery during the installation phases carried out by Saipem in the offshore Bouri Gas Project, as reported by Offshore Energy.
Next Geosolutions stated that the Bouri Gas exploitation project is one of Libya’s most significant offshore development initiatives, aiming to utilize the associated natural gas from the offshore field located off the Libyan coast.
The company also noted that it had signed another contract worth €62.6 million with Saipem last September to provide specialized subsea services and installation support for the same project. The project includes installing a new gas extraction unit, along with several upgrades and improvements to the existing infrastructure. Operations are expected to start in the last quarter of this year and continue for several months, with the possibility of extension.
The company added that the project, operated by Mellitah Oil & Gas Company, aims to enhance gas production and reduce emissions through new extraction systems and pipeline connections. Operations are scheduled to begin in 2026.
