A spokesman for the Ministry of Oil and a member of the committee to deal with the closures that hit the oil fields and ports, Ahmed Jumaa, revealed in an exclusive statement to our source that contacts were made with notables and dignitaries in the eastern region and of the southern region represented in Ubari and the Fezzan movement group, which is an intermediary for access to resolving the crisis of closures.

According to Jumaa, it was found, according to the information received by them, that the closures were due to directives and the use of oil as a means of pressure, as a result of the current political conflict and weighing one hand over another.

He also described what is happening as putting pressure on the Libyan people and playing with the strength of the Libyans, given that oil is the only source of income.

Jumaa said: “When standing on the most important demands of the protesters, especially the Fezzan movement, many points were reached, which are to address the situation, pay their salaries, and activate the provision of sustainable development for the areas adjacent to the oil operations.”

He continued: “This is in terms of the principle of transparency and equality in the distribution of opportunities and the start of the restoration and maintenance work of the road, what is known as the road of death between Sebha and Ubari. As well as addressing the deteriorating living conditions, starting with providing food baskets to the residents of the south in general and the residents of Ubari in particular.”

The spokesman for the Ministry and the member of the Lockdown Committee revealed that the demands will be referred to the government, which understands the situation and will start responding to them to reach a solution to stop the locks permanently, which took place in the last period.
