The Ministry of Social Affairs in the Government of National Unity has transferred the wife and children allowance for the first quarter of 2026 to commercial banks, with a total value of 1.1 billion Libyan dinars.
According to the data, the number of families benefiting from the children’s allowance for those under 18 reached about 1.2 million families, covering 3.9 million sons and daughters. Meanwhile, the number of beneficiaries of the wife’s allowance and daughters over the age of 18 reached 654,000 wives and 554,700 daughters, bringing the total to 1.2 million cards.
In a poll conducted by Sada with citizens, respondents confirmed that the wife and children allowance helps ease their financial difficulties and contributes to reducing living burdens. They also called for the allowance to be disbursed without delay, especially in light of the rising prices.
