As of now, the tax remains in effect, and no decision has been issued by the parliament\u2019s presidency to cancel it or halt its implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For his part, media figure and economic affairs commentator <strong>Ahmed Al-Sanussi<\/strong> said: \u201cAt this moment, while the people are angry, officials in parliament, the government, and the Central Bank are competing to convince this angry public that they are not the party responsible for imposing the \u2018tax\u2019\u2014a tax on a people who, throughout their lives, have only known grants, handouts, and subsidies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Al-Sanussi continued: \u201cAmid this anger and the exchange of accusations, things are moving beneath the citizen unnoticed.
