The Turkish Anadolu Agency reported on Wednesday that the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution renewing the authorization for member states to inspect vessels suspected of facilitating the illegal export of oil from Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agency noted that the resolution, drafted by the United Kingdom in its capacity as the penholder on Libya, reinstates the measures established under Resolution 2146, which allows member states to board and inspect designated vessels on the high seas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It added that, at the same time, the mandate of the Panel of Experts responsible for overseeing compliance with sanctions imposed on Libya has been extended until August 15, 2027. Additionally, the authorizations related to preventing the illegal export of Libyan oil have been extended until August 1, 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
