It has become a complete disruption of daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consequences include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Businesses and daily activities coming to a halt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shops being forced to close.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bakeries being disrupted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water pumps stopping.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Citizens being forced to seek costly alternative solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food and medicine being spoiled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food going bad in refrigerators.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Medications requiring continuous refrigeration, such as insulin, being affected, creating a direct risk to public health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Human Cost of Libya\u2019s Electricity Crisis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Soleh also pointed to the suffering of elderly people and patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With temperatures rising inside homes without electricity, the daily hardship becomes particularly severe for patients and children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The electricity crisis is therefore not simply an inconvenience. It directly affects people&#8217;s health, livelihoods, businesses, and ability to carry out their everyday lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Billions Spent, Yet the Same Crisis Returns<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Al-Soleh, one of the greatest sources of frustration among citizens today is the absence of a logical explanation for this persistent failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no ongoing war or blockade preventing the country from addressing the problem, while billions of dinars and substantial budgets have been allocated over the years under the heading of <strong>\u201cpower grid development and maintenance.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Saleh asks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where did all those budgets go?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And why do temporary fixes and generators continue to drain resources instead of building strategic power-generation plants and upgrading electricity distribution networks?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Crisis of Management and Governance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Soleh argues that <strong>Libya\u2019s electricity crisis<\/strong> is no longer simply a problem of limited resources or insufficient funding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his view, it has become a crisis of <strong>management, governance, lack of transparency, and widespread corruption<\/strong>\u2014a situation he warns could threaten the stability and future of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The continued reliance on temporary solutions, he suggests, raises serious questions about how public funds allocated to the electricity sector have been managed and whether they have actually delivered the infrastructure and capacity they were intended to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Citizens Need Real Action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Al-Soleh concluded his post by saying that citizens need genuine action beginning with combating corruption, prosecuting those responsible, and recovering public funds that have been lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Citizens also need clear timelines for ending this ongoing crisis\u2014not merely statements of apology and repeated justifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Economic Expert Ali Al-Soleh Libya\u2019s Electricity Crisis Continues Once again, our streets and cities are plunged into complete darkness whenever a wave of extreme heat or cold hits, bringing back the electricity crisis that continues to burden citizens without any fundamental solution in sight.
