Our exclusive sources revealed that, in light of the accumulated financial and administrative crises facing Libyan Airlines, there is a need to open its files with full transparency, away from personal favors or interests, in order to safeguard public funds and the reputation of the national carrier.

They continued: Claims and circulating information that require verification and official investigation allege the existence of a network that used certain flights between Egypt and Misrata International Airport to transport Egyptian workers, amid suspicions involving the forgery of residency permits and visas, as well as allegations of coordination between some employees at the company’s stations and other parties in exchange for financial payments.

Questions have also been raised regarding the names and officials mentioned in these accounts, including employees at the company’s station in Egypt and officials at the Misrata station, in addition to circulating information concerning the transportation of migrants from Niger and its connection to the alleged corruption network within the company’s commercial administration.

Another file that warrants scrutiny concerns one of the company’s aircraft, which remained at Cairo Airport for several years for maintenance, resulting in ground-handling charges and expenses in foreign currency, in addition to debts owed by some of the company’s overseas stations.

They added: If the facts surrounding these cases are confirmed, they should not remain merely circulating accounts. Rather, they require a comprehensive financial, administrative, and legal review covering contracts, invoices, aircraft movements, flight records, station accounts, maintenance orders, ground-handling fees, and financial transfers.

They continued: The objective is not to defame anyone, but to uncover the truth. Anyone proven innocent should have their reputation protected, while anyone found responsible should be held accountable under the law.

Libyan Airlines is a national company, and its funds belong to the Libyan people. Any exploitation of its resources or the influence of its officials for private gain should therefore be subject to scrutiny and accountability by the competent authorities.

The sources concluded by calling for an independent and comprehensive investigation into these files and for the results of the investigation to be made public.
