A Zambian diplomat named Emmanuel Mwamba has revealed a scandal involving a Libyan national who is under investigation for embezzling $800,000.
According to the diplomat, Shukri Al-Juaidi, a Libyan residing in Zambia, embezzled $800,000 USD through fraud, land grabbing, and abuse of power.
The Libyan Audit Bureau stated that Al-Juaidi fraudulently included excessive penalty clauses in contractual agreements valued at $800,000 USD, in an attempt to pressure Laico Zambia Company into compliance and discourage contract termination.
Khaled Abar, the managing director of Laico Zambia, described Al-Juaidi’s violations as severe, noting that the company lost more than $800,000 USD through illegal property transfers and fraudulent operations.
Abar urged the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Drug Enforcement Commission, and the Zambian Police to take action regarding these violations, according to the Zambian diplomat.
