Islamic Call Society to Sada: Former committee member attended headquarters with others, claiming support from a sovereign authority to take over the society’s affairs
The Islamic Call Society told our source exclusively that a former committee member of the society came to its headquarters accompanied by others, falsely claiming—without any official documents—that he had obtained backing from a sovereign authority to assume management of the society, based on a decision of the General National Congress which courts had recently annulled and which was ultimately voided by legislative law.
The society continued: “Ali Al-Sallabi,” his lawyer, and (S, K) slandered sovereign authorities, and we will notify the Office of the Attorney General about the incident and those involved in order to open an investigation into the crime of impersonation, presenting expired and invalid documents contrary to the truth, attempting to mislead the judiciary, obstruct justice, and harm the public interest.
The society added that “Al-Sallabi” submitted expired documents and concealed enforceable judicial rulings and laws in order to obtain court judgments, which constitutes deception of the judiciary and a crime punishable by law, requiring criminal prosecution of anyone proven to have been involved in this act.
The Islamic Call Society concluded its statement by saying: a nullified decision does not acquire legitimacy over time, nor can it be rectified by a subsequent decision. This is a well-established principle affirmed by the Libyan Supreme Court, in addition to the decision being terminated by law passed by the House of Representatives.
