Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, confirmed on Sunday that his country continues its efforts to transform oil and gas exploration and production activities into tangible projects in several countries, including Libya.
In an interview with the Turkish Anadolu Agency, Bayraktar explained that Turkey aims to strengthen its presence in the fields of energy and mining beyond its borders, in a way that contributes to reducing the current account deficit and dependency on imports.
According to Anadolu Agency, the Libyan and Turkish sides discussed exploration programs in onshore and offshore areas, the rehabilitation and development of oil fields, the participation of Turkish companies in hydrocarbon projects, and the development of infrastructure in Libya’s oil sector.
