The National Oil Corporation announced in an official report published today that it has paid $119 million to the United Arab Emirates in exchange for acquiring the stake of Trasta in the joint company “Lerco,” in a move aimed at restoring ownership of the Ras Lanuf refinery.
The corporation described this step as a success, noting that the deal was executed during the tenure of Farhat Bengdara, as part of efforts to strengthen control over strategic assets and improve the efficiency of refinery sector management.
